Droogies!
This is a qwik
one. I will check in later when we know more, but we have officially
confirmed Jakarta, Indonesia with my good friend Tommy Pratama, and
Seoul, Korea with our good promoter H. J. Jeon too.
I am so
excited to go back to South Korea; it has been a long time and I
love the people (especially because of learning so much about Korea
for my Chodan). And Jakarta was such a different experience that I
doubt I would ever have been able to take all of Indonesia in.
However, I would love to go see the waves, but sea snakes scare me,
and I seem to remember the surf being great down there, but
something was ominous and dangerous about surfing there.
Anyway, I will
see great waves the following week in Australia, and while we still
are unconfirmed for China, India, and Malaysia, we are still working
on making those dreams come true!
So as far as
my check list of items below:
1. Naming all
Pacific Rim dates - I did that, and all of the confirmed dates are
now up with a few pending that may be in November, and if not, at
least now we know that we can go there.
2. Naming all Australian dates - I did that and announced that we
were playing Perth and Adelaide.
3. The Warchest Box Set - I did that, as well as the EMI press
release being out, describing all of the material that makes up the
package, including some really rare stuff.
4. The US mini-Tour of Duty - this is on-going as we announce
contests and various opportunites to come say hello and/or meet the
band.
5. UK dates - these, i said, would be in the beginning of 2008 as a
mini-Megadeth tour or Gigantour, unless we support someone special
again.
6. Europe dates - we were asked to do some dates at the end of the
year with another band and the opportunity has been moved so we will
see if it still materializes, if not, you can expect to see Megadeth
again sometime in 2008.
7. South American dates - the latest news here is that we are not
going to be able to visit South America again until 2008, due to
traffic and time constraints.
8. Gigantour 2008 - we are looking at the bands right now for the
G.2008.NA and it is an extremely satisfying package, which some may
say is the best Gigantour yet! i am pretty please with the
suggestions so far
G.2008.UK or G.2008.EURO is still in the preliminary talks, with the
UK looking the most likely to be the first INTERNATIONAL GIGANTOUR
in Europe.
Had enough?
Who's next??
Have a great
day, and do something good for the world today; play some Megadeth
music really loud today.
COG.07.OZ &
G.2008.ANYWHERE
PS - we opened
up the Gigantour site again and itsUBBs too. And we are going to
hustle to include all of the guest talent that we have for next
year's Gigantour's becoming part of the community there. I would
love to see us all welcome the support bands' "online fan-base" over
here, and over at the Gigantour site, to the best fans on the planet
(or in cyberspace).
